Barefoot insoles – enjoy the summer
In summer, many people enjoy not to wear socks in their shoes. However, when wearing shoes with bare feet, the sweat is directly absorbed by the shoe. In order to keep your footwear hygienic and fresh, we developed our special “barefoot” insoles.
They are made of natural fibres, cool your feet and keep both foot and shoe dry by absorbing excess moisture.
The cotton surface of the insoles has the same function as a terry cloth towel after taking a shower: it is extra-soft and absorbent and soaks up the sweat in a pleasant and comfortable way. The underside is made of natural sisal, obtained of the leaves of the agave cactus, which allows the feet to breathe. Furthermore, sisal is kind to the skin and cushioning. Terry cloth and sisal is the ideal combination that guarantees a fresh and healthy shoe climate. For advanced hygiene, the pedag barefoot insoles are hand washable.
Silver for odour-free feet
The barefoot insoles pedag DEO FRESH and pedag VIVA® SUMMER possess a high-tech equipment. The surface is made of BIOACTIVE® fibre, a special hard-wearing and absorbent terry cloth that contains microscopic silver ions. Silver is a reliable antimicrobial agent that lowers the risk of bacterial and fungal infections and thus effectively avoids the creation of malodours in fabrics providing a perfectly hygienic environment. This has been proven and certified by the renowned German research institute Institut Hohenstein.
Both types of barefoot insoles are provided with an underside made of breathable and cushioning natural sisal. Despite the insoles being hand washable, the silver ions are fully integrated into the fibres and will not wash out. Not only is this essential in terms of sustainability and water protection aspects, but to maintain the antimicrobial effect of the insoles. Neither is the effect reduced by frequent wearing.
Silver: since antiquity much more than a means of payment
The antimicrobial effect of silver has been discovered many centuries ago. And since mankind learned about it, it has made use of it. In antiquity, this precious metal was used to speed up the healing of wounds and infections as well as to preserve the quality of drinking water. The extraordinary properties of silver have also found their way into Chinese acupuncture, using the metal for the needles. Up to the present day, silver is used in medicine, as in the treatment of neurodermatitis.

Essentially, the insoles pedag DEO FRESH and pedag VIVA® SUMMER have the same properties and consist of the same layers. But furthermore, pedag VIVA® SUMMER is equipped with an anatomically shaped supporting foot bed. It combines a longitudinal arch support for relaxed walking, a metatarsal pad to prevent and alleviate pain, and an impact shock absorber for the heel. A perfect relieve for the forefoot, longitudinal, heel and ankles, knees and back. Both insoles will make your feet feel fresh and comfortable – wellness for your feet in moccasins, casual shoes and trainers.
Instant aid against annoying blisters
Blisters are a nuisance. They are painful and seem to appear always when they are most inconvenient. The pedag blister plasters SKIN PROTECT and SPORT SKIN PROTECT alleviate blister-related pain. They cover the blister like a second skin, alleviate the pain and promote the natural healing process. The highly efficient hydrocolloid system extracts the water from the blister forming a gel that protects the skin from further friction and pressure. The plasters contain aloe vera that provides additional nourishment to the strained skin. The pedag SKIN PROTECT plasters are also suitable to prevent blisters, avoiding excess friction and pressure. At the same time, they are completely invisible once applied to the foot.
